This expansive beach has free access, just like all of Venice's beaches, and is well maintained. We recommend packing a cooler and staying until the sun begins to set- its location on Florida's west coast means you'll always get the perfect view of the sun setting over the water.
If you're looking for more active options, you can take advantage of the variety of free programs offered on site, including yoga lessons and beach volleyball. No need to worry about parking or getting your car full of sand- there is free parking, restrooms and a dressing room so you can clean up before heading out. If you want to grab a bite to eat on the beach, there is also a bar that offers beverages and snacks.
Catch Some Fish at Venice Fishing Pier
This gorgeous pier has everything you would need for a day of fishing. There is a bait shop right on the pier, along with fishing equipment rentals in case you left your rod at home. Fishing is completely free and legal in this area, and you do not need to worry about a permit either. There's no risk of leaving empty handed from Venice Fishing Pier, because even if you don't catch any fish, you will certainly leave satisfied after enjoying the beautiful view and charming residents.
Dig for Prehistoric Shark Teeth at Caspersen Beach
If you are looking for something interesting to bring home as a souvenir, look no further than south of Downtown Venice. Many tourists and residents alike have found prehistoric shark teeth right in the shallow beachfront area- you can pick them straight from the ground! Most of these teeth are as small as a thumbnail, but others are even bigger than the palm of your hand. Some people make jewelry out of these ancient treasures like necklaces and bracelets. If you're hoping to explore off the beaten path, there are nature trails that are completely untouched by civilization right on Caspersen Beach!
Go Dog Walking at the Brohard Paw Park Dog Beach
If you're a paw parent and want to treat your pup to a day of sunshine and fun, look no further than Brohard Paw Park Dog Beach! If your dog has some extra energy to burn off, they can run along the sandy beach or swim in the blue water. If your pup enjoys making new friends, there is also a fenced dog play yard equipped with dog waste bags, showers, benches and drinking fountains for dogs and their owners.

For those of you who are more interested in experiencing the local arts, Venice Theatre is located in the heart of Venice, Florida and is the third-biggest community theatre in the US. Their 2022-2023 schedule includes performances like Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird and Shakespeare's Hamlet. If you're interested in taking up a new hobby, Venice Theatre also offers public theatre classes in areas like performing to sound design.
