Residents of Jacaranda Trace Cruise to Cuba for Vacation

Patricia Linton stands by a vintage Cadillac while on a Norwegian Cruise Line tour of Cuba.  Both Patricia and her husband Larry toured the country and were very impressed at the architecture of Cuba and especially the Tropicana show.  Patricia and Larry Lindon are residents of Jacaranda Trace in Venice.

Resident and her pet Therapy dog are a Team at Jacaranda Trace

When their standard poodle Sarah died at 7 years old, Linda and Bob Carlier were devastated. They were reluctant to get another dog because she recently had several surgeries on her legs and her husband was nearing 85 years old.  Neither could walk a dog.  But when new neighbors visited with their adorable Havanese dog “Poco,” they fell in love. Linda told her husband that she could hardly walk to the mailbox and questioned if he could even walk a dog at his age.  Her husband just said we will work it out, and eventually they did.

Seafood Boiled Pot at Jacaranda Trace

In March the chef at the Grill Dieter Guedras outdid himself with the Seafood Boiled Pot.  The wonderful Seafood dish had shrimp, middle neck clams, oyster, crawfish, blue crab, snow crab, smoked sausage, corn on the cob, red skin potatoes, lemon, celery and onion.  It was served with clarified butter, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and a slice of French Baguette.  Dessert was Peach Melba, vanilla ice cream, poached peaches, raspberry sauce and whipped cream.

We have a new Physical Therapist at Jacaranda Trace, Dr. Elizabeth R. Smith. She is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and we are proud to have her join the Jacaranda Trace Team in our brand new Venice Regional Bayfront Health Rehabilitation Center newly located on the 2nd floor of Cadbury Commons.

Dr. Smith specializes in upper arm and hand therapy as well as concerns with strengthening, flexibility, walking, balance, body mechanics, pain management, or adapting to arthritis.
